As an established independent Home Improvement Agency we can access support and advice from Foundations who offer up to date training and champion our sector and represent HIA’s to central Government.

IHS has been awarded this Quality Mark. Foundations are committed to driving up standards in the handyperson sector regardless of what organisation provides this service. As a business development tool the Quality Mark also enables the handyperson providers to identify areas and opportunities for growth and service improvement.

We are members of the Federation of Small Businesses, the Uk’s leading business organisation.  FSB lobbies all levels of government to protect and promote the interests of small businesses and offers legal and practical support to its members.

By being members of the National Council for Voluntary Services we can access a wealth of advice and assistance to improve our services to our clients by debating, networking and having access to high quality support and advice.

Our associations and memberships enable us to source good quality support and advice services including legal guidance. We also have a stronger collective voice on issues that affect us and or clients. Carefully chosen associations will improve our operations and customer interactions.


We work in partnership with the Council to help our clients to access: grants; loans; advice; and practical support to adapt and repair their homes.

Working in partnership with the Council, together we provide a comprehensive Home Improvement Agency service to individuals of all ages.

Independent Home Solutions works in close partnership with Action Surrey to carry out energy surveys in domestic properties where the residents might benefit from receiving small measures such as draught proofing, letter box and door brushes, thermostatic radiator valves and more. By providing these we hope to improve vulnerable individuals’ health through increasing their warmth thus reducing winter illness and deaths.

Together we have identified ex services personnel who are eligible for assistance from SSAFA and associated services benevolent funds with costs of repair works, adaptations, improved heating and much more.

Surrey Hills Leader supports rural communities and businesses. By demonstrating a strong community ethic, IHS won grant funding in 2012 to help with the purchase of a van for one of our Technicians to carry out work in the Mole Valley area.

Local Heroes Foundation has been set up as a charity whose objectives are to provide employment, job training, accomodation, support and PTSD Therapy.

For people who have served in the armed forces and are now suffering from either physical disabilities due to injury, mental disabilities or both.

Our Partnerships are highly valued by us. Through partnership working we provide good quality services to residents of all tenures and together we offer holistic solutions to improve independence, quality of life, health and wellbeing to our clients. Local partnership working enables us to provide adaptations, preventions, improvements and energy efficiency to a high number of households and in turn we can assist local authorities meet their statutory and moral duties.

Our Referral Organisations

The Electrical Safety Council is a UK charity that provides electricity safety advice for the home and is committed to keeping people safe from electrical dangers. IHS has won grant funding to carry out essential electrical safety work in at risk homes.

Launched in 2004 with the creation of the original directory; iDorset - TheiGroup has now expanded to cover almost the entire country with the same core objective, 'to connect local customers to local businesses'. This is done by providing businesses and users with a free dedicated county business directory, keeping our information clean and user friendly.

Housing Care is a charity run site providing free advice on elderly care, including specialist directories & information on nursing homes and residential care homes, as well as sheltered housing, extra care housing and retirement villages, across the UK. Also providing over 2,000 sales and lettings vacancies every week.
